Introduction to Medical Analysis

Medical Analysis is a field of medical science that deals with the process of medical reports and documents and convert it from a voice format into a text format. It is a profession responsible for
interpreting, analyzing medical documents from a voice file and then transcribes and formatted into a document that is needed for the health care practice. It involves correcting medical inconsistencies and errors in the medical records, undertaking quality control, and final editing of medical reports. It also involves processing of documents and delivering those medical reports within a stipulated period of time. These processes are mostly done with the help of voice recorders, voice players, and computers. This is an IT enabled service where health care services are enhanced and supported by the IT industry.

A medical analyst is one who performs medical analysis using extensive knowledge and in-depth experience in English, medical science, and computer technology. The nature of job involves repetitive transcription, editing, and proof reading the converted documents. A medical analyst requires certain experience and skills for performing these duties and responsibilities involved with the work.

Experience a medical analyst should posses:
1. Knowledge of medical terminology, from the basics to advanced.
2. Knowledge of the language used, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and communication.
3. Good memorizing skills.
3. Ability to sort, check, count, and verify the words and numbers with accuracy.
4. Skill to use basic office equipments and computer and also the eye-hand coordination.
5. Ability to follow written and verbal commands.
6. Good record keeping and maintenance skills.
7. Excellent keyboard skills.
